Filter by Categories

User should be able to filter by categories; it may be very useful if you're visiting a brand or an attribute archive.

John Morgan Hello, thank you for this feature — I’ve just started using it. However, it seems this filter is not as smart as the others. When I select a brand, it still displays the full list of categories instead of showing only the categories related to the selected brand. This makes it appear as if the brand has products in multiple unrelated categories. Ideally, when an attribute like "brand, color, size" is selected, only the relevant categories should be listed. Could you please fix this in a patch?

All this sucks unless they implement a 'apply' option so multi filters can be selected then applied instead of having to select a single filter wait for the results before the choosing another filter and so on it goes! Currently it sucks the way it is.

Kevin Barnett I agree. After planning it, it's in progress since february so I hope they're doing it in the right way. It's a precious feature.

Hello, is there any progress regarding this feature? Could there be a filter design area? Is it possible to have a checkbox system for categories, similar to the other filters? Additionally, there could be an "apply filters" button. Finally, in the store filters section, accordion-style vertical filters on the left could display selectable options on the right when clicked.

Selqs I totally agree with checkbox system for categories.

There is a filter by category only if you use the "blocks" filter area and not widget with layered nav. The issue with blocks is the scrolling on mobile navigation, it creates 2 scrolling areas and blocks scrolling at a certain point. Layered nav is much smoother. There used to be a gist b, but it's on an outdated version of WC: https://gist.github.com/oscb/884b7369bc3963fd5da5

Garo I'm using HUSKY plugin but it has some problems, I don't know if it's because of Woodmart. I tried using Shop Filters from Theme Settings; it works with same widgets of sidebar so adding categories widget, clicking on a category just visit the archive, not filtering by category selected.
